cats: a morning cuddle (in which I was not consulted)

[ Loiosh, an orange tabby, is laying next to my pillow, head resting on my hand, left fore- and hindpaw draped over my arm. ]

Honestly I’m lucky he graciously allowed me to go for my camera. But this is how I woke up, & I’m extremely glad I didn’t have to pee.

Of course, having woken up, he then had to deal with the consequences.

[ Loiosh’s head is slightly blurred with motion; this is because his hindleg is vigorously occupied with scratching the air. I don’t think he actually managed to scratch his head, but it was a solid attempt. ]

Possibly he hadn’t noticed what I was doing until this moment.

[ Loiosh hindleg is resting on my arm again, paw still cocked and ready for action. He’s staring somewhat blearily in my general direction. His right ear, the one not anywhere near the scratching situation, is tilted back. ]

But then the itch called, & when the itch calls, one must answer.

One is not, however, required to answer in any useful manner.

[ Loiosh’s head is slightly blurry again, as if he were scratching. His hindleg is placed slightly higher on my arm, but isn’t doing any actual scratching. Loiosh looks pretty resigned about the whole thing. ]

After such exertion, it’s understandable that he fell nearly immediately back to sleep.

[ Loiosh’s head has descended to rest on my hand again, though that hindpaw is still slightly cocked and ready for action. His eyes are closed, and his right ear is just slightly tilted. ]

I put down my phone.

Peace descended.

It wasn’t more than a moment or two that I felt it:

Time to get up & pee.
