01/12 — flood-ravaged dystopia (with seaglass)

it doesn’t look very promising

2015-12-10 12.52.02

but you gotta be willing to look past the obvious

2015-12-10 12.52.05

& with you trusty cat by your side …

2015-12-10 12.54.47

… explore beyond where most people will go.

okay it’s still a park, you just can’t park there. i mean the sign is still up & everything

2015-12-10 12.53.51

(Loiosh was on his leash the WHOLE TIME i just wasn’t holding the other end much)

there’s a whole sweep of floodplain on the other side (so much mudlarking!)

2015-12-10 12.56.15

with broken treebits for shade (it was like in the 50s, don’t let him tell you it was SO HOT MOM)

2015-12-10 13.08.15

that’s where it got all DYSTOPIAN & AWESOME (the bridge is fine but everything else yeah nah)

2015-12-10 13.16.46

2015-12-10 13.19.58

we had to scramble a lil but it wasn’t hard to get up even for those of us without four on the floor

2015-12-10 13.25.08

2015-12-10 13.26.22

although the boy hadda take his sweet time

2015-12-10 13.20.58

2015-12-10 13.30.00

so of course we crossed the bridge

2015-12-10 13.27.17

there was that perfect path on the other side, the one that leads to faerie & treasure & stuff

2015-12-10 13.32.32

so of course we went that way

i took off my shoes, have you met me? annnd yeah waded into the water

2015-12-10 13.42.34

2015-12-10 13.47.43

more perfect mudlarking territory

2015-12-10 13.35.04

2015-12-10 13.37.11

2015-12-10 13.28.22

2015-12-10 13.17.04

2015-12-10 12.52.51

purple fkn sea glass

it was kinda awesome

(plus mullein because it’s hard to have too much of it)

the boy had SO MUCH FUN

2015-12-10 14.15.59

i ducked under the bridge to get a pic

2015-12-10 14.37.39

but by then it was getting late & the rest of the trail looked sort of boring so

2015-12-10 14.50.43

time to go home.
